Upcoming work: Midland Main Line electrification enabling
Network Rail are shortly going to undertake a programme of work between Market Harborough and South Wigston to enable further electrification of the Midland Main Line north of Market Harborough.

This work will start on 15 July and will involve vegetation management, installation of compounds and overhead line equipment. We will be installing piles, various steel parts and wiring, as well as carrying out enabling work to support the new infrastructure.
To ensure the safety of our teams, some of this work will need to be carried during the night, when fewer trains are running. We'll do our best to minimise the disruption as much as possible.

The work is divided in three sections as per this map.
